Hello sunshine!
Well, I’m finally branching out of my comfort zone and taking photos in other parts of the city. And since I was meeting up with some internship folks in Adams Morgan to visit an art collector’s apartment, why not take a few outfit photos? But I have to say, I do feel really awkward taking photos of myself in the wide open with people walking by and gawking….
(I promise I’m not conceited!)
I do find many of the neighborhoods charming around DC. Though, just behind me lies one of the craziest night scene locations in the city: 18th Street. It’s where the creepy vest conversation occurred two weekends ago. But night scene is kind of like Franklin Street (in Chapel Hill) on crack….
Ahh, anyways, enough of nightlife chattering. Let’s talk about the huge ass hill I had to bike up. I thought Chapel Hill and its constant up and down is bad, but it’s got nothing on this vertical incline up 18th! Thankfully, I opted for my trusty boat shoes instead of wedges. Plus, the boat shoes flow better with this nautical preppy style I had going on today.
(In case you haven’t figured it out, I’m a bit of an eclectic, “what’s my mood today” dresser….tomorrow, might be boho….*wink wink*)
I am also obsessed with la Marinière, aka French Sailor Shirt. At one point in time, two months ago, I owned about five….
What can I say? I like to pretend I’m French. Hence the shirt, the red lipstick, the bun, the bike riding, the wine obsession, the baguette munching….
“Je m’appelle Hillary. Je suis chic, génial y mignon. Je préfère le café.”
bisousss,
Hillary Rose

Love your style! And I had to laugh bc I too feel totally awkward taking pics in public! You are not alone sister! Keep it up, your blog is great
Super cute…and I agree with Biscuits and Navy about the pictures. It’s normal!
